How to Grow Your Internet Presence, Website Marketing in a Nutshell

Here are some ideas that I have learned on how to grow a successful online
business.

My name is Matthew Jamieson and I have been working o­n the net for 4 years
now. Here are some ideas that I have learned o­n how to grow a successful
online business.

To market successfully o­nline you need to do EXPOSE yourself at every
chance that you get. Every place that you find that will allow you to place
a link or advertisement to your website, DO IT! You can find places by doing
a search o­n your favorite search engine. Keywords could be: add url, free
classifieds, add link, place ads, etc.. use your imagination.

Next I recommend visiting newsgroups and message boards. You should not
actually advertise here unless they allow it. What you should do in these
places is find groups of people with similar interests as you, then
participate in the conversations. Most will allow you to add a signature
file to your posts. This usually is your name, email, website url, basically
whatever you would like to put there. If somebody likes what you have to
offer they may want to check out what you do o­nline.

You can visit www.google.com and click o­n groups for access to newsgroups.
Again there are to many forums and message boards to list so do a search o­n
your favorite engine. www.msn.com is o­ne place you can start.

Another great way to build a web presence is to write articles and submit
hem to ezine publishers and webmasters. Make sure that your information is
in line with what these folks are doing. Offer these articles FREE of charge
as long as your signature file is always copied over when the article is
republished somewhere else. This method will begin to start a VIRAL traffic
system for you.

These methods are great NO-Cost ways to gain an o­nline presence.

Now lets focus on Paid methods.

1. Submit your site to major search engines. This could get costly, however a
Top Ten placement in a major search engine could drive a considerable amount
of traffic to your website.

2. Use pay per click search engines. This is a search engine that allows you
to bid o­n certain "keywords" pertaining to your subject. There are to many
to list, so again please do a search and you will find plenty.

3. Place TOP SPONSOR ADS in ezines. These ads could cost between 10-250
dollars depending o­n the ezine subscriber base. Top sponsor ads have proven
to pull the best response!

Another thing that you MUST do if you are going to be successful o­nline is
to develop an opt-in email LIST. They say that the person with the biggest
list makes the most money!

When I say LIST I mean publishing an ezine, or people who have purchased a
product from you or requested a free report. You should have collected an
email from this person. This means that this person has opted in to your
list. You now have permission to market to these people over and over again.
Each time that you send a email message to your list you could make money.
